Jenni Sweitzer earned her B.A. in Graphic Design in 2006 and her B.S.E. in Art Education in May 2020, both at Millersville University. For 12 years, Jenni was a graphic designer and art manager for a media company. She designed magazines, art directed photoshoots, and curated marketing materials for national trade associations. She brings her real-world experience and professionalism to the classroom and infuses her creative eye for design and typography into her lessons.
Jenni completed student teaching at both the high school and elementary levels. She student taught at York Suburban High School in York, PA, and lead classes in photography, digital design, and drawing. She worked alongside students at varying levels of experience and gave them an appreciation for foundational art processes. She also student taught in the Red Lion Area School District in a remote capacity as a result of the COVID-19 closures. Jenni created a series of videos about creating art at home with household materials that were distributed monthly by the school district via their website.
While earning her teaching certification, Jenni worked as an instructional aide in the Southern York County School District to support students in autistic and emotional support programs. She worked as a substitute at several districts in York County while interning at York Suburban High School. Jenni used art processes as a way to reach her students with additional needs and create a positive learning environment.
